Luis Duarte, Rubrica Branco 2014, Vinho Regional Alentejo, Portugal
Tasting Note: If you tasted this wine blind, you’d think it was a white Bordeaux from Pessac Leognan.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of oak, vanilla and clove baking spice with faint notes of green apple.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied white blend wears its oak character on its sleeve with fruit overshadowed by secondary oak flavors, the wine is balanced and is not heavy handed in its use of oak.
A winning white blend.
Bottle Note: Grape Varieties – Antão Vaz, Gouveio, Viognier.
