Herdade do Esporão, Reserva Red 2014, Alentejo, Portugal
Tasting Note: A red blend from Portugal that has the concentration, complexity and aromatics that will make you want to curl up with a glass of it on a cold evening.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a fragrant and aromatic nose of dried cherry, fig, strawberry, black currant and hibiscus.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied Alentejo red blend delivers fruit and floral aromas suggested on the nose supported by velvety, medium-plus tannin.
The wine displays flavor concentration, mid-palate complexity and balance between the fruit and floral elements as well as the tannin structure.
An impressive red blend with structure.
Bottle Note: Herdade do Esporão’s boundaries remain unchanged for more than 700 years. To produce better wines, we farm under the principles of integrated production. Original label art work by Pedro A.H. Paixão. Aragonez (40%), Alicante Bouschet (30%), Trincandeira (20%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). Matured for 12 months in French and American oak.
