Luna Beberide, Finca la Cuesta 2015, Bierzo, Spain
Tasting Note: You’ve likely only had a few mencia wines from Spain, and this one is a good one to try to get a broad sense of the style of the grape and what it can achieve.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a nose of raspberry, black plum and black currant.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied mencia has velvety, medium-plus tannin and a velvety mouthfeel with flavors suggested on the nose.
The wine is balanced with medium acidity supported by medium-plus-intensity fruit flavors.
