Michel Chapoutier, Les Vignes de Bila-Haut 2016, Cotes du Roussillon, France
Tasting Note: A spritely white blend from the South of France that is a perfect porch-sipper.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of lemon and lime citrus zest, green apple, star fruit and honeysuckle.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white blend is bright with some mid-palate complexity giving way to flavors suggested on the nose ultimately completing with a medium, citrus-zest-wrapped finish.
There is balance between the fruit and medium acidity that is refreshing.
Bottle Note: Roussillon, a land of legend and history. A place of contrasts, too, much as Domaine de Bila-Haut. Elegant citrus aromas and smoky notes. Great freshness is brought by a blend of grenache blanc, grenache gris and macabeu. Grape varieties with a strong identity, for a perfect match of food and wine.
