Mouchão, Red 2013, Alentejo, Portugal
Tasting Note: A delicious Portuguese red blend with gravitas, weight and concentration.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of black plum, blackberry puree, raspberry, kirsch and dried violet leaf.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend delivers medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by velvety, ripe, medium-plus tannin.
The wine is concentrated and inky in texture with some red-fruit elements becoming more pronounced on the medium-plus finish.
There is midpalate concentration, depth of flavor and floral elements running throughout the length of the taste.
A fine bottle.
