Piteira Tinto de Talha 2014, Alentejo, Portugal

Tasting Note: A red blend from Portugal that pairs the things you love about red wine such as deep color with a lightness of spirit.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red cherry, kirsch, white blossom, red plum and hibiscus.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied red blend presents ripe, red-and-black fruit flavors suggested on the nose backed by a hint of red cherry tartness running throughout the length of the taste.

While the wine is mostly straightforward in flavor profile, it showcases the lighter-side of the ripeness scale while retaining a certain brightness.
