Ravines, Pinot Noir 2012, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: Ripe but not overripe red fruit dominates in this dry pinot noir.

Ahead of middle of the pack for the New York Finger Lakes region, this ruby-colored pinot noir is solidly within the realm of red fruit aromas with a nose of red cherry, raspberry, cranberry and a hint of red currant.

On the palate this smooth, medium-bodied wine is medium in acidity and tannin.

There is some flavor complexity in the last 25% of the taste.

Bottle Note: Ravines Wine Cellars sits on a hillside overlooking glacier-carved Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York state. Our long, cool growing season, steep slopes and moderating effect of the deep lakes create ideal conditions for producing fresh, vibrant, food-friendly wines. We are a small, family-owned winery dedicated to crafting European-style wines that convey balance, elegance and our unique sense of place. Pinot noir is crafted in the Burgundian style, showing classic aromas of ripe cherry and plum with undertones of closes, smoke and earth, while the mouthfeel is lush and the finish generous.
