Robert Oatley Vineyard, Signature GSM 2015, McLaren Vale, Australia

Tasting Note: A GSM with fruit flavors on the attack that will please your friends who enjoy fruit and keep your serious wine-drinking friends happy with depth.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of violet, black plum, raspberry, peach stone fruit and cranberry.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied GSM has flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and medium-plus tannin.

Bottle Note: In the early 1990s, I released Australia’s first “GSM” from McLaren Vale – certainly not the first time these three varieties had been blended but definitely the first to be marketed under the GSM acronym. I’m very proud of the success we enjoyed with this wine style. Our latest release delivers all the smooth, rounded flavors of this uniquely Australian style of red. – Robert Oatley, Founder. Notes from Winemaker Larry Cherubino: Macerated red fruits and musk from grenache, structure and longevity via shiraz, mourvedre’s gamey notes and minerality. Grenache 47%, Shiraz 46% and Mourvedre 7%.
