Sheldrake Point, Cabernet Franc 2011, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: This light-bodied cabernet franc has a cherry and blackberry fruit nose.

Putting your nose in the glass is like putting your nose into a basket of ripe late-summer red and black fruit. On the palate the wine is light-bodied with medium to medium-minus acid.

Like other cab francs from the region, the wine is nearly translucent in light red color. It’s almost as if this wine was a rose of cab franc that rested on its skins a little longer than usual before ferment.

This wine grows on you and is one to watch as the region continues to hone it cab franc expertise.

Bottle Note: This wine is full-bodied and filled with ripe fruit flavors. Barrel-aged in our winery for 8 months and blended for richness and complexity, it is a delicious cab franc from the heart of the Finger Lakes.
