Sheldrake Point, Pinot Gris 2014, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: While riesling may get the headlines, don’t sleep on pinot gris in the New York Finger Lakes.
This pale, lemon-colored pinot gris has an aromatic nose of green apple, bosc pear, and lemon citrus.
The dry white is elegant in texture with aromas on the nose carrying to the palate as flavors.
Medium in acidity, the wine begins its flavor profile starting mid-palate through to the back of your mouth concluding in a tart, somewhat chalky, finish.
An elegant expression of the best of what pinot gris can achieve.
Bottle Note: Enticing minerality couples with bright tropical and stone fruit characters. This pinot gris is a beautiful representation of the quality of our Cayuga Lake vineyard and the cool-climate of the Finger Lakes.
