Sosie Wines, Rosé of Syrah 2017, Vivio Vineyard, Bennett Valley, Sonoma County, California
Tasting Note: A Sonoma rosé for those who like rosés with personality and actual flavor.
Medium-intensity salmon in color, this wine has a nose of red raspberry, strawberry, red cherry, blossom and orange-citrus peel.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied rosé is filled with vibrant, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity.
There is welcome midpalate complexity, and balance between the fruit and acidity.
This is the sort of rosé you bring to the party, and people drink it and say, “Who brought that, and where did they get it from?”
Bottle Note: We live in the bear state of California but we are inspired by the wines of France. So we employ an old world approach to winegrowing that favors restraint over ripeness, finesse over flamboyance. Our aim is to craft wines that show a kinship with France’s benchmark regions.
