Tasting Note: Late-harvest zinfandel is a treat as dessert wine by itself, but to experience a 24-year-old, 1997-vintage, late-harvest zinfandel is a special treat fitting for Open That Bottle Night (OTBN) 2021.

Deep-intensity tawny in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of fig, red plum, black currant, prune, blackberry, red cherry and dried apricot with hints of orange marmalade.

On the palate the sweet, full-bodied, late-harvest zinfandel has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with notes of walnut, brioche and caramel ultimately completing with a long, red-fruit-forward finish.

The wine combines aged-black-fruit notes with the autolytic character of an aged tawny Port.

Complexity along the midpalate abounds ultimately eliciting a smile as you complete the taste.

Bottle Note: Suncé is a small family owned and operated winery located in the Russian River Appellation of Sonoma County. Our aim is to enjoy every aspect of winemaking from the vineyard to the bottle. We hope that our joy and bliss is shared by you, who by partaking of this wine become part of our creative expression. We realize it is a choice how to affect the passage of passage of time, perhaps to find eternity in a grain of sand or in a drop of wine.
