Sunce Winery & Vineyard, CabShiraz 2011, Sol y Sombra and Parenti Vineyards, North Coast, California
Tasting Note: This cabernet-shiraz blend soothes your palate in a reserved, elegant style purposefully withholding the flaunting of its obvious strength.
Medium-to-deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a pronounced, aromatic nose of blackberry, black plum, black cherry, raspberry puree, blueberry, clove baking spice and violet blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet-shiraz blend has a creamy, rich texture while echoing medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose.
The wine has a complex midpalate starting at the 40% point of the taste supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus, tannin ultimately completing with a ripe-fruit, medium-plus finish.
Yummy, delicious and special.
Bottle Note: 50% cabernet sauvignon and 50% syrah. Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wines and classic blends. Approximately 50% syrah from Parenti’s historic Suisun Valley Vineyard bring juicy blueberries and spicy cloves to this blend. Hailing from the steep cliffs of Knight’s Valley is nearly 50% of John Brother’s Sol y Sombra Cabernet Sauvignon. This rich blend yields dark blackberries and velvety tannins and finishes long, and memorably. A great addition to spicy rich curries or Middle Eastern cuisine. Only 10 barrels made.
