Sunce Winery & Vineyard, Malbec 2018, Murray Farm – Reserve, Sonoma Valley, California

Tasting Note: A perfumed, voluptuous malbec that is pleasing to the senses.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, blackberry, blueberry, black tea, raspberry puree, hibiscus, and black raspberry.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied malbec has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-minus acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin.

Complexity abounds on the midpalate but does not overwhelm the tasting experience.

The wine is in balance.

Enjoyable!

Bottle Note: Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wine and classic blends. Sunce’s Sonoma Valley Malbec is rich, with deep aromas of cherry cider, truffles, and hints of eucalyptus. In the mouth, this dark wine shows balanced fruit from start to finish, with flavors of black cherry, black tea, and mild earth, as well as nuances of vanilla and cardamon. Exceptionally age worthy: 8-12 years. Pair with mature cheddar or pecorino, Indian tandoori chicken, flank steak, Chili Colorado, beef stew. Frane Franicevic, Winemaker. Only 9 barrels made.
