Sunce Winery & Vineyard, Single Block Reserve Merlot 2016, Napa Valley, California

Tasting Note: A supple merlot with just-ripened, red-and-black fruit that pleases the palate.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, black currant, strawberry, red cherry and blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied merlot has medium-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.

The wine is balanced with depth of flavor and a velvety-texture rich with plushness.

Bottle Note: Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyards designated varietal wines and classic blends. This 100% merlot from a coveted Napa Valley single block tantalizes the senses with black tea, plummy aromas, and flavors of dark dusty blackberry fruit laced with mint and truffles. It finishes long and soft, smoky and dry. We enjoy it with grilled steak, beef stroganoff, beef bourguignon, or any beef entrée. – Frane Franicevic, Winemaker. Only 7 barrels made.
