Tasting Note: A blending grape shines alone outside of Uruguay which is known worldwide for tannat.

Medium-to-deep intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of raspberry preserve, bramble, red plum, red cherry and vanilla baking spice with hints of peach stonefruit and blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied tannat has medium-intensity fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with notes of tobacco and cigar box.

The wine is more complex on the nose than the palate and has some midpalate complexity supported by medium acidity, and slightly-velvety, medium-plus tannin.

Would pair well with red meats and stews.

Bottle Note: Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wine and classic blends. A robust wine sporting a cab-like persona with a deep purple-red hue, and a nose of pipe tobacco, smoked meat, and ripe red berries. The rich palate is a meal unto its own; conjuring thoughts of faraway lands and exotic foods. The tannins are assertive, but nicely integrated with the boldness of the fruit and spice. This tannat will complement seafood stews, venison, sausage ragouts, strong aged cheeses and other rich delectables. Aging: 7-12 years from vintage. Only 6 barrels made.
