Tilia, Merlot 2020, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: It’s time to fall in love with merlot again, and this bottle is a good place to begin.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, hibiscus, red cherry, black olive, strawberry and black raspberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied merlot has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe medium tannin ultimately completing with a floral, medium-plus finish.
There are some moments of complexity along the midpalate even as the wine is mostly straightforward.
This merlot would compliment many a meal and is a perfect accompaniment with roast chicken which I’m enjoying tonight.
Bottle Note: Social Stability: People enrich the land and we enrich our people. We support our community with an array of programs to ensure that we all thrive as one. Deeply Rooted: Our roots, like our traditions, are robust and deep. They descend far into the soil to access glacier water from the ancestral irrigation canals. Thriving on Biodiversity: We preserve and nurture plants, insects, and animals so that our vineyards can adapt to a changing environment. Natural Resilience: A reverence for traditional farming practices has shielded our ungrafted vineyards from harsh interventions, sustaining the land for generations to come. Stronger Together: Tilia wines reflect our values: honor tradition, support the community, and respect nature.
