De Saint Gall, 2012 Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Millesime Brut Champagne, France

Tasting Note: A vintage Grand Cru Champagne that is teaming with development, complexity and a rich yeasty character.

Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of brioche, biscuit, golden apple, white peach, orange zest, honey dew, blossom and toast.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Champagne has rich, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by high acidity and completing with a long, yeasty finish.

The midpalate is fulsome, complex and multi-layered.

This is the epitome of what Champagne can be.

And a perfect day to open it on my fifth wedding anniversary.
