Tobanco Plateros, House Palo Cortado Sherry, Andalucia, Spain
Tasting Note: A house Palo Cortado from a cooperative that is en-rama cloudy and gives you everything you want from this buttery treat.
Medium-intensity amber in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of brioche, just-browned toast and butter with hints of caramel and toasted almond skin.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Palo Cortado Sherry has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose completing with a medium-plus-to-long, buttery finish.
For 2 Euro a glass this is one of the best Palo Cortado-values in a town that is already a Sherry mecca.
It’s obvious this wine is a locals-only special so don’t spread the news too far and wide, and have a second glass.
