Torre de Palma, Arinto-Alvarinho 2021, Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portugal
Tasting Note: A tart arinto-and-alvarhino white blend that would serve as a good palate cleanser between dinner courses.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of pineapple, green apple, lemon zest and blossom with hints of white peach.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied white blend has tart, medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity ultimately completing with a slightly-chalky, medium-plus finish.
The tangy elements ride ahead of the fruit.
Will make your mouth pucker.
Bottle Note: Arinto 50%, Alvarinho 50%. The combination of two of the most noble Portuguese grape varieties, Arinto and Alvarinho, resulted in a wine of excellence where the terroir of the Norte Alentejano is once again honored. Grapes from vineyards located in Torre de Palma, set in a patch of calcareous clay soils, were selected and harvested by hand. After 6 months of fermentation and aging in used barrels from Burgundy, with bâttonage and sur lies, this wine expresses the freshness of the Arinto and the irreverence of the Alvarinho. More than a wine, this is our identity and passion. Winemaker, Duarte de Deus.
