Trapiche, Medalla Cabernet Sauvignon 2020, Mendoza, Argentina

Tasting Note: A cabernet sauvignon with good fruit and flavor intensity.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, bramble, cassis, black plum, red currant and leather.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied cabernet sauvignon has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and supple, medium tannin ultimately completing with a blackberry-infused, medium-plus finish.

There are notes of complexity along the midpalate.

The wine has enjoyable understated notes of fruit that please rather than overwhelm.

A good cabernet sauvignon from an established house.

Bottle Note: This wine has been crafted with grapes from ancient vineyards located in Mendoza’s Primera Zona, a premium winemaking area, under meltwater irrigation. Following a traditional winemaking process and minimum human intervention, this cabernet sauvignon has aged in fine-grained French oak barrels for 18 months. A deep red, it offers aromas of ripe blueberries with balsamic and spicy notes of green pepper and tobacco. Its soft and ripe tannins contribute to a persistent feel on the palate. Best enjoyed at 16-18°C (61-64.5 F).
