Trivento, White Orchid Reserve Torrontés 2016, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: Torrontés is the jewel of Argentinean white wine.
This bottle of reserve torrontés is not only a good place to start, but an ideal place to hold court.
Medium-intensity lemon in color this wine has an aromatic nose of rose blossom, lychee, white nectarine, green apple and lemon citrus.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied wine is creamy in texture with the tropical and green fruit suggested on the nose continuing to the palate as flavor ensconced in a perfume of rose, gardenia and apple blossom.
A wine that pairs well with summer and will almost undoubtedly be something new for friends sitting on your back porch.
Bottle Note: Torrontés, Argentina’s signature white grape, reaches perfection in Trivento’s high-altitude Mendoza vineyards. Famous for its fragrance, Trivento Reserve Torrontés opens with floral notes of white orchids, peaches and chamomile, followed by delicate tropical fruits and citrus on the palate. Soft and full, this luscious wine finishes with fresh, thanks to a touch of pinot grigio in the blend. Torrontés 85%, Pinot Grigio 15%.
