Troon Vineyard, Cuvée Pyrénées 2016, Kulbi Bench, Applegate Valley, Oregon
Tasting Note: A South-American-inspired, tannat-and-malbec blend with body and oomph.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of blackberry jam, cassis, boysenberry and black plum with a hint of hibiscus.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend delivers a combination of tart-and-ripe, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity, and slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.
There is midpalate complexity courtesy of indigenous-yeast fermentation and tannat and malbec co-fermentation that ultimately completes with a medium-plus finish.
Bottle Note: The wines of Troon Vineyard are natural expressions of sustainably farmed vineyards in the pristine mountains of Southern Oregon. Our handcrafted wines are gently treaded by foot and fermented with native yeasts to reveal nature’s essence. Each expresses with clarity and purpose the vintage, vineyard and variety that gave birth to their distinctive personality. We craft wines of purity to bring pleasure to your life.
