Valentin Bianchi, Malbec 2013, Mendoza, Argentina

Tasting Note: Pinot noir lovers at your table would find this malbec of interest.

You might even help them discover a new love of malbec. A mellow malbec with a mostly one-dimensional feel to it. Low acidity. It has a more elegant feel to it than the usual over-ripe malbec. Slight oakiness gives it more structure.

This would be a solid wine to bring to a mid-week dinner party. Would look for something more interesting for the weekend.

Bottle Note: Our hand picked grapes at vineyards adjacent to the Andes, create the best expression of Argentina. Unlike “trends” that come and go, the wines of Valentin Bianchi have signified elegance and style for discerning Argentines since 1928. This wine is a classic that is enjoyed at all times but especially when relaxing over dinner or at a gathering with family and friends. Ripe, plum, cherries, hints of vanilla, and coffee are evident in the nose. This wine impresses with pleasing fruit that mimics the aromas.
