Villa Conchi, Brut Rosé Cava, Catalonia, Spain
Tasting Note: If you enjoy cava, rosé cava is the next thing you should try like this fun, uncomplicated bottle from Villa Conchi.
Deep-intensity salmon in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, strawberry, red cherry, brioche, cranberry and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied rosé cava has medium-intensity, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a medium finish.
The sparkling wine is straightforward and good.
Cava in general is such a wonderful value for a traditional-method-made wine that when you find a cava rosé which isn’t produced in as great a quantity as regular cava, you should probably give it a try.
