Vinessens, La Casica Del Abuelo 2016, Alicante, Spain
Tasting Note: Black-fruit, leather and hints of cigar box abound in this monastrell-dominated red blend.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of blackberry, green-pepper leaf, raspberry, black pepper, fig, black plum and black currant.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with notes of cigar box supported by medium acidity and medium-plus-tannin.
The wine has a velvety texture with smoky elements making themselves apparent toward the mid-to-back palate.
Pair with grilled meats and heavy dishes.
Bottle Note: 80% Monastrell, 10% Syrah, 10% Petit Verdot. Sustainable agriculture.
