Wind Gap, Syrah 2009, Russian River Valley, California

Tasting Note: A syrah with backbone, flavor-intensity and stamina to get you through the evening and perhaps beyond.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of raspberry, black plum, red currant, red cherry, fig, and blossom with hints of clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied syrah has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin ultimately completing with a long finish.

The wine is creamy in texture with vivid acidity running throughout the length of the taste.

The short black dress of New World syrah with fleshy parts in all the right places.
