Winderlea Vineyard and Winery, Imprint Pinot Noir 2017, Dundee Hills, Oregon
Tasting Note: A Dundee Hills pinot noir that reveals just-ripened red fruit in a pinot-noir style that is imminently aperitif and food friendly.
Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red cherry, red currant, strawberry blossom, red plum, white-rose petal, vanilla baking spice and pomegranate.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied pinot noir has medium-intensity red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and well-integrated medium tannin.
Bright red fruit shines and rides along the mid-to-back palate with some emergent savory notes.
Serve this pinot noir with your charcuterie and cheese course and/or pair with white meat entrees.
Give it time to open in your glass.
It’ll taste even better an hour after you pour it so decant if you’re impatient like me.
Bottle Note: To provide a mark or impression. A distinguishing influence or effect. The word imprint means both to be affected by and to affect something. To me it speaks of continuity, of being part of a tradition. Imprint is a pinot noir created using traditional methods involving whole grape cluster from our Winderlea estate vineyard, pigeage, natural yeasts, and minimal intervention. This wine speaks directly to our desire to tread lightly on this vineyard and to allow the unique character of this site to show through. Made with biodynamic grapes.
