Winzer Krems, Kellermeister Privat Blauer Zweigelt 2015, Niederösterreich
Tasting Note: A fun, light-alcohol, Austrian red with bright acidity and fruit that is perfect for porchside, poolside and inside.
Zweigelt is a cross of Blaufrankisch (i.e., Dornfelder) and St. Laurent.
Medium-intensity ruby in color this wine has a nose of red cherry, black plum, violet and cinnamon baking spice; you might even mistake it for a pinot noir, but fruitier.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied wine has medium-plus acidity, with ripe medium-plus tannin and red fruit aromas on the nose continuing as flavors on the palate.
This is your new summer red.
