Batzella, Peàn 2016, Bolgheri, Italy
Tasting Note: A cabernet-sauvignon-led, Italian red blend that combines concentrated fruit and bright acidity.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, leather, red currant, black plum, and red cherry with hints of violet blossom.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.
The wine is mostly straightforward with some notes of complexity.
An Italian red blend to pair with grilled meats, stews and hardy dishes.
Bottle Note: A blend of cabernet sauvignon (70%) and cabernet franc (30%) handpicked from our own vineyard in Bolgheri, aged one year in French oak barriques.
