Bodegas Los Frailes, Monastrell – Garnacha 2013, Spain

Tasting Note: Monastrell blends are increasingly being produced in Spain, and this wine shows the grape’s flexibility to pair well with Grenache which makes up 30% of the blend.

Deep-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, raspberry, blueberry and violet.

On the palate, the dry, full-bodied, red blend echoes flavors suggested on the nose coupled with velvety, ripe, medium-plus tannin.

The wine is concentrated in texture with medium tannin and a black-fruit infused, medium-plus finish.

A substantial red blend that showcases ripe black fruit and body.
