Château de Chambert, Cahors 2009, France
Tasting Note: A supple, aged Cahors that is silky with a rich-yet-reserved flavor profile.
Deep-intensity ruby in color with some garnet around the edges, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of raspberry puree, blackberry, strawberry, dried red cherry, blueberry, leather and black olive with hints of clove baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Cahors has medium-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.
The midpalate is plush and complex.
Drink now; it’s ready.

Its malbec wines have been enjoyed by Kings, Popes in Avignon, Czars in Russia and French officers in Bordeaux. This splendid wine is fruit forward and elegant. It has aromas of plum and blackberries, wrapped around velvety tannins. Perfect with red meat or any spicy dish. Aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
