Chateau Gemeillan, Cru Bourgeois Medoc 2012, Bordeaux, France

Tasting Note: A Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux that delivers on the promise of being better than regular Bordeaux even while itself being reserved.

Medium-intensity ruby with some garnet around the edges, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, blackberry, red cherry and strawberry with a hint of blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied Bordeaux has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by ripe, medium tannin and completing with a medium finish.

The wine is mostly straightforward with hints of black olive on the finish.

Sippable by itself or can be paired with food.

Bottle Note: 45% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.
