Chopo 2014, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note: Overall a simple, straight forward, middle-of-the pack monastrell and syrah blend.
Medium-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of black cherry, red plum, black currant and cigar box.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied monastrell and syrah blend displays medium-intensity fruit suggested on the nose along with a medium acid and tannin structure.
There is some tart, red-fruit-infused astringency on the finish.
No mid-palate complexity.
