Familia Castaño, Monastrell 2014, Yecla, Spain

Tasting Note: This wine is from the Yecla region of Spain which is well-known for monastrell or mourvédre as it’s known elsewhere.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of blackberry, black plum, black currant and charred wood.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied wine presents concentrated black fruit with ripe, velvety, medium-plus tannin.

A good bottle with consumer-leaning, price-to-value ratio.
