Forge Cellars, Les Alliés Pinot Noir 2013, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: A Finger Lakes pinot noir with soft red fruit that benefits from indigenous-yeast fermentation.

Medium-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of strawberry, red cherry, forest floor and clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied wine delivers on red fruit flavors suggested on the nose backed by medium acidity.

The wine is silky in texture with ripe medium tannin and layered fruit.

There is some midpalate complexity that shows the delicate depth of flavor that can be achieved in indigenous-yeast fermented wines.

Bottle Note: 100% East side Seneca Lak – Leidenfrost Vineyard. Hand-harvested in small 30 lb, boxes with a second manual hand-sort in the winery. Native yeasts were used for fermentation. Production: 222 cases. Louis Barruol, Richard Rainey & Justin Boyette
