Gérard Bertrand Crémant de Limoux Brut Rosé 2015 – A Sparkling Rosé that Doesn’t Disappoint

Gérard Bertrand, Crémant de Limoux Brut Rosé 2015, Limoux, France

Tasting Note: A dry, fruit-filled sparkling rosé from Limoux in the south of France.

Medium-intensity salmon in color, this wine has a nose of red cherry, cumquat, melon, peach stone fruit, green apple and strawberry.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied sparkling rosé presents bright, green-and-red-fruit flavors with additional notes of blossom through to a medium-finish.

There are some notes of mid-palate complexity and balance between the fruit and medium-plus acidity.

A sparkling rosé that doesn’t disappoint.

Bottle Note: This cuvée is a tribute from Gerard Bertrand to Thomas Jefferson, the most French of American presidents. He was Limoux’s greatest admirer, and he discreetly cultivated his love for France and for Limoux sparkling wine. In fact, wine from Limoux was the only sparkling wine to be found in his personal wine cellar. This wine is a blend of chardonnay (70%), chenin blanc (15%), pinot noir (15%). The grapes are grown at the highest elevation vineyards in the South of France, where hot days and cool nights ensure freshness, fruitiness and elegance in this unique sparkling wine.
