Halos de Jupiter Côtes du Rhône 2018 – Robust, Concentrated and Absolutely Delicious

Halos de Jupiter, Côtes du Rhône 2018, Rhone, France

Tasting Note: A Côtes du Rhône that is robust, concentrated, inky and absolutely delicious.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of blackberry, black plum puree, raspberry, forest floor, dried mushroom, violet blossom and rhubarb.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied Côtes du Rhône has medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, grippy, medium-plus tannin.

The wine is velvety in texture with a flattering combination of fruity and earthy notes.

I like!

Bottle Note: For Philippe Cambie and Michael Gassier the “raison d’être” of these wines is to explore the variety of grenache expressions unique to the southern Rhône Valley. Where the Rhone River meets the Mediterranean, Costières de Nîmes’ proximity to the sea confers freshness & elegance. Enjoy this crowd pleaser with spicy Mediterranean or Asian fare as well as grilled veggies. 80% Grenache & 20% Syrah.
