Tasting Note: If you’ve had cabernet franc from other countries, you know that the grape has many styles.

This wine nails the best of the cold climate, Finger Lakes cabernet franc style.

The deep ruby-colored cabernet franc has an aromatic nose filled with red fruit including red plum, red currant, dried cherry with cedar, clove and vanilla undertones.

On the attack soft, yet-at-times prickly, tannin makes its presence known followed by well-integrated red fruit that completes with a supple, slightly-chalky finish.

The medium-bodied wine shows mid-palate complexity underpinned by medium acidity.

Three is impressive balance between the fruit and tannin components.

Can drink now but has more aging potential.

Bottle Note: Heron Hill only produces a cabernet franc reserve on exceptional vintages using selections of the best barrels. Long maceration on the skins during fermentation helped to extract the full potential of the fruit. The wine aged 20 months in French oak, Eastern European oak, and American oak barrels. 200 cases produced.
