Domaine Puig-Parahy, Georges 2011, Côtes Du Roussillon, France, Wine Casual

Domaine Puig-Parahy, Georges 2011, Côtes Du Roussillon, France

Tasting Note: A sippable, evening worthy red blend from the south of France.

Deep garnet in color this wine has a nose of black fruit, black plum, strawberry and cassis.

On the palate the wine is medium in body with additional flavors of sour cherry resting on some mid-palate complexity.

Bottle Note: The estate of Puig-Parahy dates back to 1446 and lies on clay-limestone soils in the foothills of the Pyrennees near the Spanish border. Very old vines and exceptionally low yields bring intense flavors of blackberry, plum and brown spices, bittersweet herbs, and some smokiness. Exuberant, infectiously juicy, impeccably clean. To be paired with grilled meats, pasta, cheese. 30% syrah, 30% grenache noir, 40% carignan old vines.
