Il Bastardo Sangiovese di Toscana 2017 – A Good-Value Sangiovese

Il Bastardo, Sangiovese di Toscana 2017, Tuscany, Italy

Tasting Note: A good-value sangiovese with bright fruit to pair with a midweek meal.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red cherry, red currant, strawberry, dried cranberry, blossom and red plum.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied sangiovese delivers smooth, red-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity, and ripe medium tannin.

The wine is balanced, straightforward in profile and would be a versatile accompaniment to many a meal.
