Kaiken, Terroir Series Torrontés 2015, Salta, Argentina
Tasting Note: An approachable wine made from a grape varietal that many have yet to experience, that would be an instant dinner party crowd pleaser for those looking to challenge their guests’ palates with something new.
Grown in high altitude Salta, this floral white made from the torrontés grape expresses the varietal’s delicate character while delivering plenty of bite.
Lemon yellow in color this wine has an aromatic nose of fruit blossom, white rose petal, golden apple, lychee and lemon zest.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied torrontés is tart on the attack with lemon citrus and medium-plus acidity showing through to the end of the taste.
Bottle Note: Kaiken Terroir Series wines are the product of our search for innovative terroirs in Mendoza, Argentina, from which our winemaker Aurelio Montes, Jr. sources and selects the best grapes to craft appealing and distinctive wines. Our Terroir Series Torrontés comes from the Cafayate Valley in Salta, the prime region for the variety in Argentina. Attractively pale yellow in color, the wine is elegant, fresh and lively. On the nose it is aromatic, with hints of peach and tropical fruit. On the palate, there is good, refreshing acidity, and a rounded, long finish.
