Tasting Note: Take note Italy; a silky-textured Italian red varietal, Nero D’Avola, is being successfully raised and vinified in California, and this bottle proves its potential to shine.

Medium-to-deep intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of violet, black plum, blueberry, red cherry and clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied wine delivers fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and smooth, medium-plus tannin.

There are additional flavors of cedar running throughout the length of the taste ultimately completing with a fruit-infused, medium-plus finish.

There is mid-palate complexity and a balanced intermingling of fruit and oak flavors.

Superb.

Bottle Note: Red Tail Vineyard – In 2012 the Red Tail Vineyard was planted adjacent to our winery in the heart of the Lodi Appellation. With warm days and cool nights, the 3.62 acre block is in a prime location to develop the concentrated flavors for which Nero D’Avola is known.
