Maison Single Vineyard Reserve Chenin Blanc 2016 – Balance Between Fruit & Oak Character

Maison, Single Vineyard Reserve Chenin Blanc 2016, Franschhoek, South Africa, Wine Casual

Maison, Single Vineyard Reserve Chenin Blanc 2016, Franschhoek, South Africa

Tasting Note: A chenin blanc with balance between fruit and oak that delivers a ripe, but restrained version of the grape similar to a fine, white Bordeaux but at a much more affordable price.

Medium-intensity gold in color, this wine has a nose of green apple, blossom and lemon citrus along with soft notes of vanilla baking spice notes.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied chenin blanc has medium acidity with flavors of over-ripe pear completing with a medium finish.

Bottle Note: If you’ve managed to get your hands on one of these bottles you’ve earned a drink. With only eight barrels harvested from a single vineyard block in the Franschhoek Valley, this beauty is like a vintage sports car – rare but unmistakably classic. Uncork this gem and enjoy a smooth crisp ride.
