Manz, Platónico 2016, Vinho Regional Lisbon, Portugal
Tasting Note: A red-blend from Portugal that presents bright, silky, red-and-black fruit that will make you want to go down the Portuguese wine rabbit hole.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of raspberry puree, kirsch, black cherry, red plum, blackberry and violet.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied wine is smooth in texture, with deep, medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity, and ripe, silky, medium tannin.
There is balance and a certain calm about this red blend that is attractive.
Bottle Note: Touriga Nacional, Aragonez and Syrah give intense aroma, denouncing ripe red fruits and floral notes that well characterize this blend. This set reflects the balance that results from the best of the complexity of Portuguese wines.
