Pedro Rodriguez e Hijos, Mil Pesetas Oloroso Sherry, Jerez, Spain

Tasting Note: A classic Oloroso with attractive baking spice and rancio notes.

Medium-intensity amber in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of bread dough, fresh brioche, butter and vanilla baking spice with hints of butterscotch and well-done toast.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied Oloroso Sherry has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose ultimately completing with a yeasty, medium-plus finish.

The wine is complex, creamy in texture and multifaceted.

An attractive Oloroso.

Bottle Note: Aged in casks in our San Guillermo cellar, using the traditional Solera system, this wine was allowed to oxidize slowly over many years to attain its rich aroma. Oloroso means aromatic. This unique aging process gives this Sherry its characteristic dark amber color, rich walnut aroma and deep, generous flavors. This is pure unsweetened Oloroso so dry to the taste. Serve at cellar temperature, on its own, or for something different try as a great food match with sirloin steak or other hearty dishes such as a traditional stew. Perfect with mature cheeses. Estate bottled by Pedro Rodriguez e Hijos, producers of the finest sherries since 1821.
