Penélope Sánchez, Cava Brut, Spain
Tasting Note: A medium-throttle cava that has all of cava’s classic characterizes in a soft, floral style.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of fresh green apple, sliced pear, bread dough and lemon citrus.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cava has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium finish.
The wine is mostly straightforward with a good, clean, crisp follow-through.
Bottle Note: 40% Parellada, 30% Xarel-lo, 30% Macabeo. The success has been categorical and wild applause ricochets through the hall. It is 1922 and the singer Conchita Piquer’s just conquered the NY crowd. She was the first ‘Penelope’ and became a symbol of modern women in Spain. Penélope Sánchez is the tribute to all of them. Olé to beautiful women! Made with organic grapes.
