Prats & Symington, Post Scriptum De Chryseia 2016, Douro, Portugal

Tasting Note: An elegant red blend from one of Portugal’s most hallowed parcels that impresses and will make you want to go down the Portuguese-wine rabbit hole.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus intensity nose of black plum, raspberry puree, bramble, crushed-dried-violet petal and kirsch.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied red blend delivers restrained and delicate black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose, supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin.

The wine is smooth in texture with midpalate complexity that brings out the wine’s floral character.

One of the most impressive Portuguese blends you’ll encounter.

Bottle Note: Post Scriptum is a partner wine to the Chryseia, the highly acclaimed Douro wine, which marries Bruno Prat’s Bordeaux expertise with the Douro’s traditional grape varieties. Like Chryseia, Post Scriptum is sourced primarily from Quinta de Roriz and Quinta de Perdiz. The wine is aged in 400 liter French oak barrels.
