Reserve Des Vignerons, Saumur Champigny 2018, Loire, France

Tasting Note: Classic Loire cabernet franc with all the earthy notes that are the varietal’s calling card.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, black tea, pencil shavings, forest floor, rhubarb, hibiscus and black-raspberry puree.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Saumur Champigny has medium-plus-intensity herbal flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a slightly-savory, medium-plus finish.

The wine is multilayered with slightly- grippy, medium tannin.

Bistro cabernet franc at its best.
