Robert Stein, Cabernet Sauvignon 2017, Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia

Tasting Note: A fresh, balanced cabernet sauvignon that punches above its weight with quality and value.

Medium-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, red currant, dried-red-rose petal and blackberry.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet sauvignon has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and mellowed, medium tannin ultimately completing with a medium finish.

The wine was oaked for twelve months in 20% new oak, mostly French.

Bottle Note: Johann Stein arrived in Australia in 1838 bringing with him select cuttings and viticultural expertise to supervise operations at Macarthur’s Camden vineyards. Generations of winemaking experience are evident in the Robert Stein portfolio of regional wines. The 2017 season provided us with some very ideal growing conditions, creating great fruit concentration and balance in all varieties. This cabernet sauvignon displays dark berry, with hints of dark chocolate, and supple tannins with great length of flavor. A multi-vineyard blend from our 40-year-old vines, this cabernet sauvignon is great for drinking now or cellar for short-medium term. Winemaker, Jacob Stein.
